虽说无一物,尘埃处处盖。未经勤拂拭,何知镜非台?

Something from last year

You know how sometimes you're asking for help to fix something, and the guy who's helping, the tech support or whatever, asks you some stupid questions and then you think, hey, do you think I'm an idiot? Of course I've thought of that already. But here's the thing: the vast majority of customers ARE idiots, which is why they tend to assume that you're one of them. There ARE people who need to be told to 'click the blue e', 'click the little cross on the top right hand side'. True story, the customer ahead of me actually had to be told all these. Which is really an ok question to ask if you're new to computers (where have you been for the past eternity or so) and you're asking the kid next door or whoever is convenient. But these people call tech support, take up the lines and obstruct people who have problems which can't be solved by the kid next door, and make tech support treat everyone else as idiots. And these people must be the majority so that it becomes the norm to assume the customer as such.

So yeah, maybe the Chinese love of face and not losing it in public isn't all bad after all.
