虽说无一物,尘埃处处盖。未经勤拂拭,何知镜非台?

Before moving ahead perhaps it is wise to consider what one's goals really are. Maybe it's not the money but rather what can be bought; maybe it isn't even what is bought but what one feels when said thing is bought.

People differ in the things they want and why they want them. On the other hand, we are the same in that we "want".  This "want" often causes a loss of perspective; when we find something worth setting as a goal, it seems to mean that we will somehow gain something from attaining it. And perhaps we do, but it never is a simple gain. While we get the benefits of attaining a goal, some goals come with costs. Attaining a goal also implies change, and change might also mean one loses the benefits that one has taken for granted before attaining the goal.
