虽说无一物,尘埃处处盖。未经勤拂拭,何知镜非台?

Added note

In light of the OODA loop, there are some points that need to be examined.

a. Decisions and the actions resulting from them should be based on some kind of orientation. There must be a goal, and some sort of idea (whether it is accurate or not is a different issue) of HOW the way one decides to act brings one closer to the goal. Not to say that there is no room for instinctive action (when time constraints prohibit proper orientation, or if one's instincts are sufficiently "good", whatever that means), but in the general sense of things, it is always better to have a proper orientation, which can be tested by observing the consequences of the action taken, and readjusted if necessary.

b. Much of society teaches us that failure is bad (if you fail your tasks, you have failed/are a failure), but failure, as a result of a mistaken perspective of things, is inevitable, given our flawed ability to observe and process information, as well as the uncertain ever-changing nature of the world. On the other hand, observances such as "failure is the mother of success" are incomplete, because there is no mention of what to do with the failure in order to produce success. It is necessary to have an orientation, test it by acting based on it, then observe the results and adjust to a new orientation based on the results, then repeat it until there is a sufficiently accurate perspective that provides an idea for success.
